Woodhaven Bible Church exists to make followers of Christ who worship God, connect with one another and serve the church and the world.

At Woodhaven Bible Church our mission statement tells us what our ultimate goal is and how we intend to get there. It functions like a navigational app on your smart phone. You enter the destination and get step by step instructions on how to arrive.

Of course, church life is not a simple step by step process in quite the same way, but keeping our mission statement clear and simple helps us to not get distracted by good but less important things.

Overall, we believe the church exists in the world to make followers of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28:18-20. This is our unique contribution and we are passionate about being and making followers of Jesus. We think this is a very biblical goal, but what does a follower of Jesus look like?

Three things.

Followers of Jesus worship God. Our Sunday morning worship service is the primary vehicle for our church body to gather and delight in adoration to God. We sing, pray, give and listen to God as citizens of His kingdom who are longing for our homeland.

Followers of Jesus connect with one another. We need each other. None of us can walk this road of discipleship on our own. Our small groups and other key ministries help us to build relationships where we can speak the truth in love in order to build one another up to maturity (Eph. 4:11-16).

Followers of Jesus serve the church and the world. We don't come to church only to praise God, learn of Him and build relationships. We are the church to one another by serving each other and then spreading out throughout our community during the week in order to serve the world by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
